What is it about circles? The circle has long been considered the perfect shape. It has fascinated people since before Pythagoras. Whole and complete; no beginning or end, the circle is the quintessential symbol of time and, by extension, clocks themselves. The cycle of days turns into the cycle of weeks, months and years. The turning hands of the clock evoke the spinning earth. Circles upon circles, our ash and walnut clock plays with our fascination of this ancient perfect shape.
