These coasters were inspired by our recycled hardwood cutting boards. Wood scraps do pile up, and we're always looking for ways to make use of them.
A friend of ours asked if we made coasters, and we decided that maybe we should. These coasters are made from a variety of hardwoods that would have normally been added to our firewood pile, as they’re too small for much of anything. But these scraps are perfect for coasters. Some of the woods that may be used include: maple, reclaimed Brazilian cherry, butternut, cedar, alder, American cherry, reclaimed mahogany, oak, and walnut.
They measure 3 3/4 inches square and approximately 1/2 inch thick. These are thicker than many commercial coasters and finished with polyurethane, so they are very durable. They have felt pads on the bottom, so they won’t scratch your furniture.
Sold in sets of four. Great for gift-giving.
