We have a room in our house that we use as a showroom, and this is the door that separates it from our kitchen (and the cats!). Since this is our showroom, we felt that it needed a door that was more than just an ordinary door.
The door is made with a fir frame and a plywood core. The design uses a variety of shopcut veneers of woods that we use in many of our other projects. These include cedar, birdseye maple, oak, cherry, zebrawood, and wenge, among others.
It's hard to see in the photo, but the snake and cat are debating over a flying insect made of Douglas fir burl with woodburned wings.
