Pine End Tables
These tables were created for a client who already had a rustic southwestern style living room set that she liked and wanted to supplement. We built this set of tables to match. They are made of pine with antique iron corner braces.
Constructing these tables to match our client's existing set of furniture presented a special problem in that the original pieces were made with a solid pine center surrounded by a mitered frame. This is a very poor practice as the expansion and contraction of the center panel is bound to cause the table to warp or split eventually.
In order to preserve the same appearance, we chose to make our tables with a plywood center covered with a shopcut bookmatched veneer. The client was pleased, and we have confidence that our tables will last much longer than the originals they were built to match!
