Handcarved Solaris Wall Clock
The Solaris Clock is carved out of solid basswood and is a stylistic representation of the sun. The red and orange hands and center invoke heat and energy. The curving shapes conjure up images of flames. Of course, all clocks represent the sun to some degree.
The main portion of the clock is a pierced deep relief carving, and both the numbers and center detailing are chip carved. You can see details of that in the photos below.
The clock is 20" in diameter, and 2 1/2" deep.
